Overseas travelers are usually on a 1 year working holiday visa and can work up to 6 months with the same employer. Some travelers just come to Australia on a tourist visa and are not allowed to earn anything (besides free accommodation and meals).

We then decided to go ahead to screen Au Pairs with the Au Pair Checklist and had more luck. However it takes time and patience to search for the right candidate.
Under no circumstances should a special needs match be rushed.
